About me
I am an Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Alabama. I am a fellow for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Enabling the Next Generation of Hazards Researchers Fellowship Program for the 2019 - 2021 round. I was an Early-Career Research Fellow for the National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine Gulf Research Program from 2017-2019.
My research field is the human-environment interaction with specific interests including: human dimension of climate change, environmental risk perceptions, community resilience to environmental hazards, social response to hydrological hazards, and environmental hazards and public health. My research is largely empirical and quantitative. I use social survey data along with geographic data (e.g., weather, climate, environmental hazards, environmental pollution, and census) to understand environmental decision making within a geographic context.
